Trainer Shelter Programs

Join our team and play a key role in empowering staff who support Unaccompanied Minors. The Trainer will design and deliver impactful training programs that foster growth, cultural understanding, and excellence across our team. This position works closely with leadership to ensure every staff member receives the tools and guidance needed to succeed.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Trainer must be a professional leader in organizing the training department in collaboration with the Program Director or designee. The Trainer is responsible for the development of training courses appropriate to meet the needs of the Unaccompanied Minor’s program with staff from a variety of cultural backgrounds. The Trainer is to promote a positive climate of learning and excellence where employees have the opportunity to enhance their professional growth

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES

• A Bachelor’s degree required in the field of Education, Social Service or related field.
• 1-2 years of paid or unpaid experience working with youth.
• Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire
• Valid Texas Driver's License with an excellent driving record
• CPR / First Aid, operate up to a 15-passenger transit van, receive required training and certification for Handle with Care which is a physical restraining course, able to receive TBRI, able to manage program software, and other DFPS mandated training (paid-trainings offered on the job)
