BACKGROUND : Since 1952, Beacon Group has been creating opportunities for people with disabilities across Southern Arizona, Phoenix and beyond. Beacon provides job training and placement, supported and center-based employment, and day treatment programs to assist the more than two-thirds of working-age people with disabilities who do not have a job. POSITION INTRODUCTION : Responsible for accurate assembly of contracted jobs based off of drawings and prints. Perform cable assembly job with strict attention to safety considerations and report any defects immediately to supervisor. Because we participate in the Ability One program, preference is given to individuals with a documented disability.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Responsible for assembling cables & wiring harnesses by reading and interpreting technical diagrams and blueprints.
• Ability to solder terminals, connectors, and braid.
• Capable of conducting continuity and resistance testing.
• Understanding of and demonstrated experience with ICP620 Workmanship & Acceptability Criteria.
• Perform job with strict attention to safety considerations.
• Ensure on-time deliveries of various cable assemblies.
• Reports any defects immediately to the supervisor.
• Excellent manual dexterity to manipulate small parts.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds unassisted.
• Ability to push and pull 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work effectively with staff, clients, and the public.
• Ability to use judgement.
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to learn and use equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Work schedule is Monday to Friday, 6 : 00 am - 2 : 30 pm.
