We are seeking an experienced and technically sharp Radar Engineering Team Lead to join our team in Dayton, OH and help shape future radar capabilities for the nation.
Position Overview
As the Radar Engineering Team Lead, you will manage and contribute to efforts involving the design, analysis, and vulnerability assessment of U.S. and foreign radar systems . You'll lead a team focused on signal intelligence, algorithm development, technical exploitation, and radar system modeling.
This role requires both deep radar expertise and technical leadership . You'll coordinate with government Task Managers and SMEs to guide analytic, design, and development efforts, ensuring all deliverables meet mission-critical standards in performance and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary engineering team to perform technical analysis, reverse engineering, and vulnerability assessments of radar systems.
- Drive the design and enhancement of radar signal processing algorithms and workflows.
- Conduct in-depth exploitation of radar data such as CDIF and PDW formats to extract signal parameters and system behaviors.
- Develop and refine software algorithms for target detection, classification, geolocation, and tracking using MATLAB, Python, and C++.
- Identify system vulnerabilities and provide defensible, technically sound insights to stakeholders.
- Serve as the primary technical interface with government customers to define scope, validate analysis, and coordinate tasking.
- Oversee task execution across multiple radar-related task orders and manage engineering resource allocation.
- Mentor junior engineers and guide analytic tradecraft development.
- Produce and review technical reports, presentations, and briefings for internal and external audiences.
Minimum Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship and active TS / SCI security clearance.Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field (Master's preferred).8+ years of experience in radar systems engineering, with demonstrated leadership in technical execution and / or team management.Strong background in radar phenomenology, waveform analysis, and system-level signal processing.Proven experience analyzing radar signal data (e.g., CDIF, PDW), extracting signal characteristics, and generating technical intelligence products.Proficient in Python, MATLAB, and C++ for algorithm development and data analysis.Experience leading or contributing to DoD / IC radar or SIGINT efforts.Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting NSIC, NASIC, or NOVASTAR task orders.Familiarity with foreign radar system exploitation, countermeasure development, and RF threat assessments.Understanding of CI / CD pipelines, Agile development, and containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Background in machine learning applications for radar or SIGINT data.Knowledge of classified reporting environments and DoD technical reporting requirements.Work Location & Travel
