This position ensures the quality of the food and that the overall guest experience is excellent. Also responsible for bussing and cleaning their own tables as well as all billing and payment processing.This role will pay an hourly rate of $2.83, plus tips.Benefits for PT roles : 401(k) savings plan and 401(k) matching.EVERGREEN ROLE : Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; there is no application deadline.PPL Center is a state-of-the-art multipurpose arena in downtown Allentown, PA and home of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. The arena seats more than 10,000 for concerts and more than 8,500 for Lehigh Valley Phantoms professional hockey games, making it the regions largest events venue.The amenities-packed PPL Center hosts more than 150 events each year, offering something for everyone, including the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, the AHL affiliate of the NHL Philadelphia Flyers, live concerts, family shows, trade shows, youth sports, high school and collegiate events, conferences, graduations, and so many more. Chickies & Petes is a full-service bar and restaurant located within PPL Center, serving lunch Tuesday through Friday and open for events.Greet guests in a friendly professional mannerProvide education about Chickies style of service, the food and beverage menus, how menu items are prepared, the ingredients used and the different cooking methods.Ensure menu, food preparation, and ingredient knowledge in order to address guests food allergy concerns and questions.Smile and maintain a positive attitude at all timesPerform light food preparation duties when neededFollow all Chickies & Petes service standards including up-sellingInform guests of daily specialsCheck food and beverages for quality and presentation, following menu builds, before servingServe food and beverages to guestsCheck identification to ensure that guests meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beveragesRecognize signs of intoxication and handle alcohol-related situations effectively; keep management informed when situations arise regarding intoxicated guests / refusal of serviceProvide food and drink recommendations to guestsReceive guest payments and process transactionsSincerely thank all guests, make them aware of upcoming specials or events and invite them back for another visit soonClear, clean, and reset tables promptly according to proper sanitation standardsEnsure all condiments and napkin dispensers are clean and well stockedRespond appropriately to guest complaints and bring any issues to the attention of managementPerform marketing and other promotional services as neededComplete beginning, change, and end of shift side dutiesUnderstand the importance of speed of service and act with sense of urgency when performing job tasksAttend all scheduled employee meetingsAdditional tasks as assigned by managementHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredMust be 18 or over1 years or more experience serving in a fast-paced high volume environmentPrevious cash handling experience preferredAbility to learn to operate a cash register and corresponding system accuratelyPossess valid food handling certificate and RAMP certification if required by state and federal regulations (or be willing to obtain one within a 60 day time-frame from date of hire)Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude with co-workers, management staff, volunteers and guestsAbility to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, some holidays, and long hoursAbility to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environmentMust perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate strength including cleaning, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing and handling of materials.
