Position Summary :

The Maintenance Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department, ensuring that all systems, equipment, and facilities are safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role requires leadership, hands-on technical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, residents, and outside vendors.

Key Responsibilities :

Direct and oversee maintenance staff and contractors to ensure timely completion of tasks.

Perform routine inspections of the building, grounds, and equipment.

Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs.

Maintain records of maintenance work, inspections, and regulatory compliance.

Ensure compliance with state, local, and federal building safety and health codes.

Oversee and participate in snow removal, landscaping, and general grounds upkeep.

Monitor and manage maintenance budget, inventory, and supplies.

Collaborate with the leadership team to support resident comfort and safety.

Qualifications :

High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school preferred.

Minimum 3–5 years of maintenance experience, preferably in a healthcare or assisted living setting.

Previous supervisory or management experience required.

Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and safety regulations.

Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work flexible hours, including being on-call for emergencies.
