About the Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate, evidence-based care to patients by assessing health needs, developing nursing care plans, administering treatments, and collaborating with the healthcare team. The RN serves as a patient advocate, educator, and resource to promote optimal health outcomes.
Responsibilities
Patient Care & Assessment
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, including physical, emotional, and psycho-social health needs.
Monitor patient vital signs, symptoms, and conditions, and document accurately in the medical record.
Administer medications, treatments, and procedures safely and in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
Evaluate and document patient responses to treatment, making adjustments as needed.
Care Planning & Coordination
Develop, implement, and revise individualized nursing care plans.
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
Advocate for patient needs and preferences in decision-making processes.
Safety & Compliance
Maintain a safe environment by following infection control, medication administration, and safety protocols.
Adhere to all state and federal regulations, as well as hospital / clinic policies and procedures.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice programs.
Professional Development & Leadership
Supervise and mentor nursing assistants, LPNs, and other support staff.
Engage in ongoing professional development, continuing education, and skills training.
Uphold ethical standards and the nursing code of conduct.
Qualifications
Education : Associate’s Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Licensure : Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and specialty certifications preferred depending on unit.
Experience : Previous clinical nursing experience preferred; specialty areas may require specific training or prior work history.
