Application Production Support Analyst

A financial firm is looking for an Application Production Support Analyst to join their team in Irving or Tampa.

Duration : 5+ months (possible RTH)

While professional experience and qualifications are key for this role, make sure to check you have the preferable soft skills before applying if required.

ABSOLUTE MUST : Unix, SQL, Python

GREAT TO HAVE : Autosys and big data

Looking for at least 3+ years of Application Production Support experience with strength in SQL and Linux. Will be supporting legal, regulatory and reporting applications.

Must have strength in command line and SQL (writing and troubleshooting queries)

Ab Initio is a nice to have but not required.

NOT looking for Network support, desktop support or Hardware support experience.

This business-critical requisition required to support daily production batches. This requires research and identification from failed batches to resolutions at the quickest time. This is a business sensitive position that requires attention to detail and quick turnaround. Liaise between various support team across multiple vendors to provide seamless customer experience.

Responsibilities :

Perform analysis of existing application protocols and software tools and actively engage with the various support teams for the smooth functioning of firm's business. Provide application support oversight in resolving and troubleshooting problems. Provide and support recommendations for improved procedures and policies. Work with various vendors and ensure that issue resolution is as per firm's standards and there is timely notification to the customers for the ongoing production issues. Ensure that there is a seamless communication channel between the support and the development team for ensuring the production issues are fixed in timely manner. Assist and support in achieving departmental goals and objectives. Provide advanced application support to effectively utilize the system infrastructure and resources. Provide direct assistance to users in using and interpreting software tools and products. Interact with software vendors to provide best solutions to business problems. Ensure compliance of all security measures in application development processes.

• Oversees process for technical issue escalation; prioritizes technical issue resolution.
• Oversees resolution of major system outages ensuring communication to interested parties.
• Start of day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handover.
• Act as a liaison between users / traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors.
• Provides technical oversight across systems and applications; leverages skills across apps support area.
• Participate in application releases, from development, testing and deployment into production.
• Develop and maintain technical support documentation.

Qualifications :

First class degree with excellent academic qualifications. B.E / B.Tech. in Comp science, IT, or other engineering disciplines from a reputed institute with relevant work experience.
