Protrans Freight Claims Specialist
The ProTrans Freight Claims Specialist investigates, processes, and resolves claims for lost, damaged, or delayed freight shipments. This is accomplished by reviewing documentation, communicating with carriers, internal drivers, stakeholders, and customers, gathering evidence, and ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies. This role serves as a central point of contact for the claims process, aiming to recover costs, mitigate loss exposures to the business, and minimize supply chain disruptions.
Key Responsibilities
Reviewing shipment documentation, such as Bills of Lading (BOL) and Proof of Delivery (POD) and gathering evidence to understand the claim.
Ensuring all necessary documents are collected, submitted on time, and that there are no discrepancies that could lead to claim denial or negative repercussions.
Acting as the primary point of contact to provide updates, gather information, and facilitate communication between carriers, customers, and internal teams.
Ensuring adherence to company policies as well as local, state, and federal regulations throughout the claims process.
Working to resolve claims by ensuring accurate valuation of losses and coordinating to reach a fair settlement.
Monitoring claim trends and identifying opportunities to reduce the frequency and severity of future claims.
