Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

The US Construction Engineering department is responsible for the design and construction efforts for high-tech, large-scale projects for Micron in the US. Current high-profile projects include the design and construction of two high-volume manufacturing fabs in Boise, ID and a third fab in Clay, New York.

Micron is seeking a skilled Gas Systems Engineer to oversee the third-party design of specialty gas systems, bulk gas plants, and cryogenic gas systems for high-tech large-scale construction projects. The Gas Systems Engineer will manage external design firms, ensuring that designs for gas delivery systems meet project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements. This role requires deep technical expertise in gas systems, strong project management skills, and the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, high-performance systems for semiconductor manufacturing.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate across teams—including external designers, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders—to ensure gas system designs meet facility needs and project timelines.
  • Ensure system integration using BIM tools (e.g., Revit, Navisworks) to coordinate third-party designs with other facility systems and control platforms (e.g., PLC, SCADA).
  • Enforce safety and compliance by overseeing the implementation of protocols for hazardous and cryogenic gases in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Support commissioning and validation, reviewing design performance, coordinating with vendors for equipment testing, and managing risks to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in gas systems engineering.
  • Proficiency in reviewing engineering deliverables, including P&IDs, 3D models, and specifications, using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
  • Preferred Requirements

  • Excellent project management and communication skills to coordinate with external design firms, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Semiconductor industry experience.
  • EIT- Engineer in Training, PE- Professional Engineer.
  • As a world leader in the semiconductor industry, Micron is dedicated to your personal wellbeing and professional growth. Micron benefits are designed to help you stay well, provide peace of mind and help you prepare for the future.
