Position Summary
The Primary Care Physician will facilitate the mission of Metro Community Health Center by ensuring the delivery of quality patient care and coordination of direct patient care within the health center. This individual will administer to patients’ needs while adhering to the scope of practice and standards of care. The physician will provide the highest level of care to ensure quality, cost-effective programs and services throughout the lifecycle, including other duties, tasks, or projects as needed.
Essential Functions
Conduct comprehensive physical assessments; evaluate, diagnose, and treat new and existing patientsSupport integration and collaboration between Primary Care Providers and Mental Health ServicesInitiate and interpret labs and imaging (including CTs & MRIs)Perform medical proceduresPrescribe medications and refer patients for specialized consultationDocument patient progress in the EHR, including status and treatments providedConduct follow-up patient careProvide health education to patients and familiesSupervise and / or coordinate patient care and support staff activities within the clinicTeach and train on illness prevention and participate in community health educationPerform emergency life-saving procedures in critical cases (e.g., cardiac arrest, respiratory arrest, massive hemorrhage)Serve as a frontline medical provider in emergency disaster servicesDemonstrate strong relationship-building and customer service skillsApply interpersonal and influence skills when managing difficult clients or patientsMaintain high competency in clinical practice and charting requirementsDemonstrate problem-solving abilities to support patients and staffShow strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasksUse computers effectively for data entry and information retrievalCommunicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writingImplement and evaluate operational and administrative processesPosition Requirements
Education / Experience
M.D. or D.O. from an accredited institutionLicensed to practice Family Medicine in the State of PennsylvaniaSkills / Abilities
Expertise in clinical best practices, protocols, and trendsKnowledge and success in managing overall clinical operationsFamiliarity with accreditation processes and compliance with federal, state, and local healthcare regulationsAbility to manage multiple priorities and emergency situations effectivelyProficiency with office management, computers, and EMRsPhysical Requirements
