If you love precision measurement and documentation discipline, this role places you at the heart of product acceptance. You will verify conformance to stringent customer requirements, ensure paperwork and certifications are correct, and help operators quickly correct issues. Aerospace experience is a major plus.
Core responsibilities
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections using appropriate tools and approved methods to ensure parts meet customer specifications.
- Confirm production documentation is complete and process shipments when requirements are fully satisfied.
- Review material and process certifications to ensure they meet all customer criteria.
- Document nonconformances and communicate findings effectively.
- Select and validate inspection methods and equipment for effectiveness; ensure inspection intervals are statistically valid.
- Translate customer quality requirements for machinists and verify understanding.
- Provide actionable data to operators to correct nonconforming parts.
- Complete all required process documentation; verify accuracy of certification records.
- Maintain compliance to the quality management system, AS9100D, and customer-specific requirements.
Technical strengths
GD&T proficiency per ASME Y14.5-2009.Proficient with dial indicators, gage blocks, micrometers, and other inspection equipment.Brown and Sharpe Micro-Val CMM experience is a plus; CMM Manager software experience is a plus.Comfort with office software; some drawing or CAD software familiarity.Strong record keeping, organization, and communication.Ability to assist with PPAPs, FAI reports, Gage R&R, and additional quality tools.Solid math fundamentals and machine shop basics; experience in an AS9100 shop environment.Required training and background
