We are searching for a Labor & Delivery Nurse ! – someone who works well in a fast-paced hospital setting. In this position, you'll provide quality nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age appropriate care in a manner that incorporates family centered principals and cost effective care.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assesses patient with input from the patient / family

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in nursing or other degree in nursing with acceptance or current enrollment in a BSN program and signed agreementCurrent licensure with the Board of Nursing for the State of Texas or Nurse Licensure Compact and BLS certification are requiredCurrent BLS certification from the American Heart AssociationOne (1) year of professional nursing experienceMust have L&D, Triage, Antepartum, and Mother / Baby Unit experienceKnowledge of the principles of biological, physical, and social scienceKnowledge of observation, assessment, intervention, evaluation, care and counselKnowledge of health teaching of persons who are illKnowledge of health or prevention of illnessKnowledge of administration of medications or treatmentsKnowledge of administration, supervision, and evaluation of nursing practices, policies, and proceduresKnowledge of developmental (age-appropriate) nursing practicesAbility to demonstrate positive and appropriate interpersonal skillsAbility to demonstrate good time and resource management skillsAbility to demonstrate flexibilityStrong oral and written communication skillsAbility to operate unit specific equipmentAs part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications
If you are applying to Labor & Delivery or OB Assessment & Triage (WAC), we prefer previous 2-3 years experience within Labor & DeliveryIf you are interested in OB ICU, we prefer you to have adult ICU experienceIf you are interested in OB Float Pool, we prefer you have worked in all the following : MBU providing couplet care, OB Triage, Labor & Delivery, High Risk Women's Services including Gyn and OB patients on Women's Specialty Unit
