Overview
The mechanic will be responsible for servicing and maintaining a variety of equipment, including tractors, zero turns, mowers, vehicles, gators, and small equipment such as trimmers and backpack blowers. This role requires a strong understanding of diesel and gas engines and mechanical systems, as well as electronic components, with the ability to diagnose and repair issues efficiently. The mechanic may weld broken parts and assist with assembly of equipment, and may direct workers engaged in cleaning parts and other related tasks. The organization may identify other responsibilities as needed based on business requirements and client needs.
Responsibilities
- Pass and maintain any required security clearance and comply with Drug Free Workplace policy.
- Adhere to Operations Security (OPSEC) standard operating procedures.
- Adhere to the Property Control Plan for management of Government Furnished Property (GFP).
- Adhere to safety and health programs that comply with EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA, DOD, Armed Forces Branch requirements, and local safety, environmental, and health regulations.
- Maintain a valid state vehicle inspection license.
- Work a flexible work schedule as required.
- Read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Use computer database software to create and approve Preventive Maintenance (PM) orders.
- Meet education requirements (high school diploma / GED; associate degree preferred).
- Possess Diesel Mechanic Certification.
- Have 3+ years of experience performing automotive and commercial equipment repairs and service.
- Preferred CDL Class A Certification.
- Other tasks may be directed by the Project Manager / Supervisor.
