Must-Have :

Level 1 Trauma experience is required.

Must have strong critical thinking and assessment skills.

Must be able to detect small changes in patients.

Ability to work with natural hair color and no facial piercings.

Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing.

Description :

The unit consists of 48 total beds with 10 specialty rooms for epilepsy.

This nursing role involves caring for patients with epilepsy, brain tumors, subdural hematomas, scoliosis surgeries, traumatic brain injuries, and other neuro diagnoses.

RNs are expected to maintain a patient ratio of 1 : 4 during both day and night shifts.

Charge nurses do not have patient assignments but provide support to the team.

Patient care technicians are available to assist.

Self-scheduling is in place for weekends, requiring 3 shifts in a 4-week period.

RNs will be expected to complete essential skills assessments, including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes through simulated labs.

Additional education will cover lifts, restraints, and wound care, tailored to equipment and policies of the facility.

Bipap management will be administered with respiratory therapy available 24 / 7.

Pharmacy services are also available 24 / 7.

There may be a possibility of floating to medical-surgical or telemetry floors.

The unit promotes the importance of maintaining sterile fields during procedures.

Candidates indicating a lack of competency in critical areas may not be a good fit for this position.

Shifts run from 7 PM to 7 AM, adhering to the hospital's cancellation policy of up to 4 shifts for a 13-week assignment.
