CIS Tutor Salary : $19.50 - $25.96 hourly

Classification : Instruction & Classroom Support Tech 1

Location : Bremerton (Main) Campus

Reports to : Director of Tutoring

  • This recruitment is to establish an applicant pool for future vacancies. Individuals will be contacted as vacancies occur.

Olympic College is continuously recruiting for an Instruction & Classroom Support Tech - CIS Tutor position that may occur throughout the year for the T-205 Technology Tutorial Center. This position will be responsible for helping students develop digital literacy skills associated with basic computer and internet use. Part-time positions at the college are open continuously and reviewed on a quarter-by-quarter basis. Individuals who apply to the applicant pool are considered active for a period of 12 months from the application date and may be contacted when vacancies occur. Essential Functions

Assist students in analyzing assignments and understanding class materials.

Assist students in the development of basic computer literacy skills.

Assist students in the development of basic, structured, programming skills.

Assist students in the development of basic networking skills.

Assist students in clarifying critical thinking and development of communication skills.

Assist students in the development of effective study habits and skills.

Assist students working in an online format.

Perform other related duties as assigned and / or required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Reference from an instructor or professor if you are a current Olympic College student.

High School Graduation, Equivalent or Current Running Start Student.

Basic Computer Competency

Desired Qualifications

College teaching or previous tutoring experience.

3.5 or better in OC CIS networking or programming coursework (or equivalent from another institution)

Additional Information

Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.

Hourly employees must work 480 hours in a rolling six-month period to become eligible for health benefits. Hourly employees must work 70 hours in any five months for two consecutive years to become eligible for retirement. This is an hourly position scheduled to work up to 18 hours per week, with a salary of $19.50 - $25.96 hourly

  • . They are not initially eligible for benefits upon hire, but could qualify for the following.

    Conditions of Employment

    Prior to a new hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted.
