Emergency Medicine Locum Opportunity - Kansas City, Missouri Level I Trauma Center High-Acuity 3-Month Assignment Position Overview : Join a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency department in Kansas City, MO. This Level I Trauma Center sees complex cases and accepts numerous transfers, offering an excellent opportunity for experienced emergency physicians seeking a dynamic environment. Assignment Details : Start Date : September 8, 2025 Duration : 3 months Shifts : 6a-4p 10a-8p 3p-1a 8p-6a Scheduling Flexibility : Main hospital may offer shifts shorter than 12 hours Affiliated Free-Standing EDs require 12-hour shifts Providers must be open to days, nights, and weekends Must be willing to work across both hospital and affiliated FSER locations Clinical Environment : Trauma Level : I Average Daily Census : 106 Annual ER Admissions : 34% Common Cases : High-volume trauma (including penetrating), critically ill patients, frequent procedures, and high transfer rates Technology : Occasional psychiatric robot assistance Support Staff : Full specialty support except pediatrics Candidate Requirements : Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM) EM Residency Trained ACLS, PALS, ATLS required Strong procedural skills and comfort with high-acuity patient care Know someone who might be a great fit?
