Our client is a diversified company specializing in pet care products, which include pet foods, supplements, grooming tools, and household pet care products. They are looking to add a Regulatory Affairs Manager (Pesticide Products) to their teams.
Salary / Hourly Rate :
$140k - $150k DOE
Position Overview :
The Regulatory Affairs Manager (Pesticide Products) is responsible for leading regulatory compliance efforts for pesticide products, including topicals, collars, and shampoos across North America (U.S., Canada, and Mexico). Serving as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, this role requires deep expertise in the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA). The Regulatory Affairs Manager (Pesticide Products) will collaborate with internal teams and external consultants to ensure compliance for both new and existing products, while providing strategic guidance to departments such as Production, Sales, Marketing, and Executive Leadership.
Responsibilities of the Regulatory Affairs Manager (Pesticide Products) :
- Oversee regulatory and labeling compliance for pesticide products in North America, including product registrations, renewals, adverse effect reporting, and interactions with federal and state agencies.
- Understand and apply testing protocols and regulatory requirements to support successful product submissions and approvals.
- Partner with Canadian and Mexican consultants to manage regulatory submissions, including new applications, amendments, and formulation updates.
- Administer federal and state registrations, amendments, and renewals for pesticide products.
- Monitor EPA databases, the Federal Register, and industry publications to track competitor activity and ensure appropriate data compensation.
- Strengthen knowledge and management of Adverse Effects reporting, working with third-party partners to ensure compliance with domestic and international regulations.
- Investigate and resolve regulatory issues or complaints from internal teams, customers, or government agencies.
- Support the development and approval of product labels and advertising materials.
- Stay informed on regulatory changes, new guidance documents, and industry developments.
- Represent the company in trade associations, providing insights and strategic recommendations to Marketing, R&D, and Management.
- Contribute to the creation and approval of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for pesticide products.
- Participate in the docket review committee to evaluate and approve public-facing information related to pesticides.
Required Experience / Skills for the Regulatory Affairs Manager (Pesticide Products) :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs within the EPA-regulated product space, with strong familiarity with FIFRA.Proven experience in registering new pesticide products, including dossier preparation and submission.In-depth knowledge of U.S. federal and state pesticide registration processes; Canadian regulatory experience is a plus.Ability to interpret complex regulations and identify strategic opportunities while ensuring compliance.Preferred Experience / Skills for the Regulatory Affairs Manager (Pesticide Products) :
Proficiency in NPIRS and PPLS systems.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory scenarios.Excellent communication, negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.Self-driven and capable of mentoring and motivating others.Skilled in managing multiple projects and delivering results under tight deadlines.Creative, results-oriented, and aligned with consumer and business needs.Familiarity with animal feed regulatory compliance is a plus.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Experience in pet products is highly preferred.Willingness to travel as needed. (Must be willing to travel to the NJ Headquarters once a month or as needed).Education Requirements :
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Entomology, or a related field is required.Benefits :
