Job Description
American Traveler is hiring a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) with both inpatient and outpatient experience for a day shift assignment in a critical access hospital setting.
Responsibilities
Work in a 25-bed critical access hospital with both inpatient and outpatient therapy servicesPatient caseload includes swing beds, ICU, Med / Surg, orthopedics, and a cardiac cath labLevel IV trauma emergency room exposureCare for patients including those with COVID-19 as neededDay shift schedule from 8 : 00am to 5 : 00pm, Monday through FridayWeekend and holiday shifts may be required as needed by the departmentScrubs required with no specific color mandatedResponsible for providing therapeutic interventions to a diverse patient population in both inpatient and outpatient settingsMay work with patients in a variety of units including ICU, Med / Surg, and orthopedicsTeam structure supports multidisciplinary care deliveryAdherence to department protocols for treating COVID-positive patients is requiredOrientation and training tailored to individual experience will be providedHoliday and weekend coverage will be scheduled based on departmental needsAccepts local candidates at the same rate as travel candidatesRequirements
Associate Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant programCurrent state Occupational Therapy Assistant license required if applicableCurrent BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross requiredMinimum of 1 year experience as a COTA, preferably 1-2 yearsNational Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy certification preferredAOTA and OTAC membership preferredBenefits
