High-Tech Intellectual Property Associate Attorney
Location : New York
Direct Counsel is seeking a Mid-Level Intellectual Property Associate to join a prestigious Am Law 100 firm in New York . This position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge patent litigation matters in the technology, electronics, and engineering sectors , representing clients in high-stakes disputes before U.S. district courts, the International Trade Commission (ITC) , and the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) .
Key Responsibilities
Represent clients in patent litigation matters before U.S. district courts, ITC, and PTAB.
Conduct technical and legal analysis on patent validity, infringement, and enforcement strategies.
Draft and respond to motions, pleadings, and discovery requests.
Collaborate with technical experts to develop trial strategies and arguments.
Assist in preparing witnesses for depositions and trial testimony.
Handle post-grant proceedings , including inter partes reviews (IPRs).
Qualifications
Education : J.D. from a top-tier law school, class of 2019 to 2021 .
Experience : 3 to 5 years of patent litigation experience.
Technical Background : Degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or a related field .
Admission : Patent Bar admission required .
Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent legal writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Work Environment & Compensation
Salary Range : $310,000 – $390,000 (compensation may vary based on experience, skills, and firm policies).
