7a-7p day shift - Thursday through Saturday and every other Wednesday
Job Summary :
This position is primarily responsible for providing medical and physical care to the residents of the memory care assisted living to meet their daily needs and enable them to function at the highest possible level. The caregiver is the residents’ closest advocate in the MCAL. The caregiver promotes the residents’ psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationship building and works with the MCAL team to meet other social service needs of the resident and of the assisted living, always providing support, friendship and kindness for each of the assisted living members.
Maintains attitudes and behaviors that demonstrate and uphold the Mission Statement of Trinity Woods (TW), supports the TW core values and shows an understanding of TW’s person-centered philosophy.
Job Requirements :
- High school graduate or GED preferred.
- Current certification in Oklahoma as a Certified Nurse Aide.
- Current certification in CPR and First Aid.
- Current Food Handling Permit with Tulsa Health Department
- Minimum of one (1) year work experience in a long-term care environment preferred.
- Commitment to person-centered and resident-directed care is essential.
- Completion of cross training for assisted living activities, housekeeping, and laundry.
Responsibilities :
Meets all resident and MCAL needs by actively assisting (to the extent of cross training and certification) in all tasks to meet identified needs.
Responsible for attending to personal care needs of the residents of the MCAL, including but not limited to psychosocial and safety needs.Supports residents in self-care and provides care as necessary for those unable to care for their own needs.Follows universal precautions, proper infection control, sanitation, and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.Observes residents closely, identifying changing needs and conditions at first indication, and reports immediately to nursing or MCAL leadership as appropriate.Consistently works with MCAL team members, led by resident and family preference to meet the needs and desires of all MCAL residents.Seeks opportunities throughout the day to facilitate spontaneous activities of resident choice and accompanies residents in all activities of choice.Maintains clean spaces, including resident rooms and assisted living common spaces, as well as support spaces and equipment.Provides assistance to ensure residents’ personal laundry is maintained in quality condition.Maintains compliance with TW’s policies and procedures in accordance with governing laws, regulations, and regulatory agencies.
