About The Position

Job Title : Cardiac Sonographer

Experience : At least 1 year of previous experience preferred

License : Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) in Adult Echocardiography required. Registry eligible candidates will be considered.

Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required

Must-Have :

Graduate with an associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited echocardiography program.

Knowledge of aseptic technique.

Knowledge of EKG rhythms.

Ability to use Electronic Medical Records.

IV insertion for administration of ultrasound imaging enhancement agents and bubble studies, proficient within 6 months of hire.

Description :

The Cardiac Sonographer / Echocardiography Technologist works closely with the cardiologist in the assessment and treatment of cardiac diseases in the Accredited Echo Lab.

Diagnostic Ultrasound testing includes m-mode, 2D, 3D, spectral Doppler, color Doppler, tissue Doppler imaging, strain imaging, bubble studies, contrast-enhanced transthoracic echocardiograms, exercise pharmacology stress echocardiograms, imaging for structural heart procedures, and assisting the cardiologist with both 2D and 3D transesophageal echocardiograms.

Sonographers are scheduled for regular hours during the day.

Team members must be willing to travel occasionally to different sites.

Weekend call by department rotation is required.

New graduates are required to obtain certification within 12 months of hire as a condition of continued employment.
