Safety Manager

As a Safety Manager at RXO, you will lead safety and compliance, overseeing our regional safety and safety administration teams. You'll also work closely with third-party vendors, terminals, and independent contractors to ensure compliance with FMCSA and DOT requirements while leading safety programs and ensuring an overall culture of safety within the business unit.
What your day-to-day will look like :
- Assist the Safety Director with creating, implementing, and evaluating the company's safety policies
- Work with terminal and field safety management teams to maintain a safety culture while helping to develop measurement criteria to improve safety performance
- Ensure contractor and company compliance with all applicable federal, state and local regulations
- Oversee accident investigations, record keeping and document discovery; maintain OSHA records and compliance of employee injury reporting
- Handle the final compliance review of applicants and oversee entry into transportation management system
- Facilitate beginner and refresher training for internal employees
- Handle third-party vendor relationships
- Oversee internal programs and policies, including contractor CDL and CSA monitoring, drug and alcohol program compliance, the maintenance of roadside inspection documentation and OS compliance (ELOGs)
- Perform periodic audits of qualification files, accident files, roadside packets, etc.
- Handle or assist with driver, vehicle and company permitting or tax filings
- Complete other duties as assigned
At a minimum, you'll need :
5 years related experience in transportation safetyExperience with FMCSA and DOT regulationsIt'd be great if you also have :
Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics or related field or equivalent related experienceKnowledge of ELOGs and HOS regulationsProven experience identifying and resolving business problemsExperience developing actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those resultsExcellent negotiation skills to deal effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the organizationSolid experience using a variety of interpersonal styles and communication methods to effectively adapt to new work structures, processes, or culturesSolid presentation skillsExperience taking calculated risks and making strategic, results-oriented decisions while accepting responsibility for the results (positive or negative)Does this sound like you?
