JOB SUMMARY : Under Supervision, the intern (s) will help support the Safety Department with day-to-day operations related to water conservation, energy management, and waste reduction. This role provides hands-on exposure to real-world Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) practices in a fast-paced manufacturing and distribution environment. The intern will contribute to GSF’s commitment to continuous improvement, sustainability, and environmental stewardship.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
- Support the collection and analysis of environmental data (e.g., energy use, water consumption, waste generation, emissions).
- Assist in sustainability reporting and compliance documentation (e.g., ESG, GHG, ISO 14001).
- Conduct waste, water, and energy audits under supervision.
- Participate in the development of environmental awareness and employee engagement campaigns.
- Assist in updating and maintaining EHS documentation, procedures, and training materials.
- Research industry best practices in environmental sustainability and recommend process improvements.
- Support the implementation of sustainability projects such as recycling programs, carbon footprint reduction, and green supply chain initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Facilities, Operations, HR, etc.) to support EHS goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.Strong interest in environmental sustainability and corporate responsibility.Familiarity with environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001), sustainability frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP), and regulatory compliance is a plus.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with data analysis or visualization tools is a bonus.Strong analytical, research, and communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
