Overview

Position : Library Clerical, 1.0 FTE, Whittier Middle School. 9-month school-year schedule. Hours : Monday–Friday, 7 : 45 am–4 : 15 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Pay : Clerical Class I - Level FX, starting at $18.22 per hour.

Essential Functions & Duties

• Performs circulation duties.
• Reshelves library books.
• Prepares overdue library material notices; assists the librarian with classroom research projects.
• Enters data into the computer (inventory, book records, supplemental reading books).
• Processes new library materials.
• Distributes library mail.
• Assists the librarian in maintaining the online and in-print catalog.
• Mends library materials.
• Maintains current inventory of all library materials and equipment.
• Supervises students in the library media center during the standard student day.
• Maintains library, computer labs, equipment and video schedules; orders supplies for library and teacher work areas.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Pay & Benefits

Salary : Clerical Class I - Level FX, starting at $18.22 per hour. 2025-2026 Clerical Salary Schedule. Pay Day : Last working day of each month. Benefits available for positions 20 hours per week or more.

Hours & Calendar

1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, 9 months; Monday through Friday, 7 : 45 am to 4 : 15 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. 2025-2026 9 Month Clerical Calendar.
