About the Role

Firestorm is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Deployment Operator to support the setup, breakdown, and movement of our xCell expeditionary manufacturing systems in the field. This role is well-suited for individuals with a background in live event production, touring operations, technical field work or expeditionary deployments.

As part of the xCell Engineering & Operations team, you'll be responsible for site preparation, equipment handling, and system installation / teardown. Often in challenging, undeveloped, or austere environments. This is a hands-on role which requires physical stamina, the ability to work as part of a team, and the discipline to follow both verbal and written technical instructions with precision. Attention to detail, output, and accountability are essential.

This position is open for a 6-month contract term .  This project-based role involves travel to various deployment locations across the United States. Each deployment typically spans 3 days, with an estimated 4–10 hours of setup, teardown and idle time during operations.

All travel-related expenses, including flights, lodging, ground transportation, and meals, will be fully covered by the company.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in site preparation, including terrain leveling and container securing.
• Coordinate movement and staging of mobile units and supplies, including ruggedized xCell systems.
• Perform setup and teardown of xCell production and support systems per SOP and leadership direction.
• Follow instructions from the Site Lead, Technical Program Manager, or Field Operations Manager.
• Report any accidents, damage, or incidents involving setup or breakdown.
• Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of the work environment for scheduled events.
• Read and interpret SOPs, technical manuals, and deployment checklists.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of the work environment.
• Assist with shipping, receiving, inspections, and inventory control.
• Identify and report equipment issues, incidents, or unsafe conditions.
• Support basic operational tasks or assist with training during idle time.
• Lift, carry, and maneuver heavy gear and equipment (up to 75–100 lbs.).
• Ensure full compliance with safety policies and standard procedures.

Work Environment

This position is physically demanding and involves manual labor in varied field conditions, including potentially remote, rugged, or undeveloped sites. It may involve working long or irregular hours, with idle periods between deployments. This is a contract-based, field-deployable role, ideal for touring professionals, technical operators, veterans, or logistics personnel with relevant experience. PPE, travel logistics, and equipment will be provided as needed or required.

Compensation

US Hourly Range : $45-$70 USD

The posted salary range reflects an estimate based on a variety of compensation factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, education, certifications, specialized skills, geographic location, and business needs. Actual compensation may vary, and this range is subject to change as our compensation structure or market conditions evolve.

ITAR Compliance

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or otherwise eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
