Position Summary The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides compassionate, hands-on care to children and adolescents with autism and developmental disabilities. Reporting to the Director of Nursing (DON), the LVN assists in delivering individualized treatment, administering medications, and supporting behavioral interventions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN). The LVN collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to ensure a structured, nurturing environment that promotes healing, learning, and stability for every patient. Key Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to pediatric patients with autism and developmental disabilities. Administer medications and document responses according to physician orders and facility standards. Support behavioral interventions and assist in implementing individualized treatment and care plans. Participate in daily routines, therapeutic programming, and educational activities to encourage patient progress. Observe and document patients’ behavior, participation, and physical condition accurately in the EHR. Respond to patient crises using approved de-escalation and crisis prevention techniques. Communicate clearly with RNs, physicians, and therapists regarding patient status and progress. Foster a safe, structured, and positive environment in alignment with trauma-informed care principles. Support collaboration among nursing, therapy, and educational teams to promote consistent, high-quality care.
