Position Summary : Under general supervision the Vehicle Operator Specialist- Bus Driver, Workforce Inclusion safely and effectively operates passenger vehicles to transport and assist people with disabilities to and from destinations. Employees in this job class operate multi-passenger vehicles, perform vehicle inspections, and maintain accurate and legible records and logs. This job class requires the ability to safely operate a passenger vehicle, navigate to various locations, and maintain related records.

Typical Duties :

• Operate multi-passenger vehicle to safely transport individuals with disabilities to job sites and other destinations.
• Assist passengers with entering and exiting the vehicle including securing wheelchair(s).
• Perform vehicle inspections and report any mechanical problems prior to departure.
• Communicate with dispatch personnel.
• Maintain accurate and legible records and logs as required.
• Performs duties and special projects as assigned.

Work Environment :

Most work is performed outdoors and, in a vehicle while driving. Frequently operating a passenger vehicle in a variety of traffic and weather conditions. This position requires non-traditional hours and / or split shifts.
