Overview
We are seeking a skilled AWS Cloud Administrator to join our dynamic team. As an AWS Cloud Administrator, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring, and maintaining cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services. You will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability of our AWS-based systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud operations and AWS administration.
What You'll Be Doing
- Manage and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure across multiple environments including development, staging, and production
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity using AWS CloudWatch and other monitoring tools to ensure optimal performance and proactive issue resolution
- Implement and maintain backup strategies, disaster recovery procedures, and ensure business continuity through automated processes and regular testing
- Configure and manage AWS services including EC2 instances, S3 buckets, RDS databases, VPC networks, IAM users and roles, and other core AWS services
- Perform regular system maintenance activities including patching, updates, and configuration changes while minimizing downtime and business impact
- Implement and maintain security controls, access management, and compliance policies in accordance with industry standards and organizational requirements
- Automate routine administrative tasks using AWS CLI, PowerShell, Python scripts, and Infrastructure as Code tools like CloudFormation or Terraform
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, performance bottlenecks, and connectivity problems across AWS environments
- Manage cost optimization initiatives including rightsizing instances, implementing auto-scaling, and monitoring resource utilization to control AWS spending
- Maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Collaborate with development teams to support application deployments, environment provisioning, and CI / CD pipeline operations
- Stay current with AWS service updates, new features, and best practices to continuously improve our cloud infrastructure
Who you are
Minimum 8 years of IT Infrastructure experienceMinimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud administration and operationsStrong understanding of cloud computing concepts, services, and operational best practicesProficiency in core AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, and AWS Systems ManagerExperience with monitoring and alerting tools to proactively identify and resolve system issuesStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issuesExcellent communication skills with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and document technical proceduresTechnical Skills Required
AWS ServicesHands-on experience managing EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, Systems Manager, and other core AWS services
Cloud SecurityExperience implementing and maintaining AWS security best practices including IAM policies, security groups, encryption, and compliance frameworks
NetworkingStrong understanding of AWS networking including VPC configuration, subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, and network troubleshooting
Monitoring & LoggingProficiency with CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config, and third-party monitoring tools for infrastructure observability
Backup & RecoveryExperience implementing automated backup solutions using AWS Backup, EBS snapshots, and cross-region replication strategies
AutomationExperience with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and Infrastructure as Code tools (CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK)
Performance OptimizationKnowledge of rightsizing, auto-scaling, load balancing, and cost optimization techniques
High AvailabilityExperience configuring multi-AZ deployments, elastic load balancing, and failover mechanisms
ContainerizationFamiliarity with Docker containers and AWS container services like ECS or EKS
DevOps IntegrationExperience supporting CI / CD pipelines and working with version control systems like Git
Database AdministrationBasic knowledge of RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB administration and backup / recovery procedures
Cost ManagementUnderstanding of AWS billing, cost allocation tags, Reserved Instances, and cost optimization strategies
Education
