Advantra is partnering with a Series A AI infrastructure startup in San Francisco to hire a Product Designer to lead product design for the company's core platform and user experience.

About the role

You will design and refine user experiences across web and product surfaces. You will work with engineers and leadership to turn complex workflows into clear, usable interfaces. You will lead design decisions for a wide product area and deliver intuitive experiences that meet the needs of technical users.

Responsibilities

  • Design and iterate on product interfaces based on user feedback.
  • Create intuitive designs for complex data and workflow products.
  • Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs are technically feasible.
  • Own the end-to-end experience across core product and dashboards.
  • Contribute design strategy and input to product roadmap planning.
  • Work closely with leadership and customer teams to gather insights.
  • Deliver design assets in Figma and maintain consistent visual standards.
  • Prototype and validate features through user testing and iteration.
  • Present design work clearly and gather structured feedback.

Core requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of product design experience.
  • At least one shipped product or major feature as lead designer.
  • Experience designing SaaS or developer tools.
  • Fluency with Figma and common prototyping tools.
  • Strong understanding of web interface design systems.
  • Proven collaboration with engineering teams.
  • Ability to handle user feedback and iterate quickly.
  • Knowledge of CSS, HTML, and JS workflows.
  • Experience contributing to product strategy.
  • Based in or willing to work in San Francisco 4 days a week.

    • Nice to have

  • Background in data infrastructure or AI tools.
  • Experience with open-source or technical product design.
  • Understanding of native mobile design in Swift or Kotlin.
  • Familiarity with designing developer-facing experiences.
  • Prior experience at early-stage startups.
