Job Description
An Entry Writer is responsible for the preparation and submission of US custom documentation on behalf of importers. The Entry Writer will work closely with customers and keeping customers up to date and advising them of any customs-related issues that impact their goods. The entry writer will arrange deliveries of the goods in a timely basis.
Job Responsibilities
- Enters and transmits entries for air and ocean import shipments
- Review Customs Notes to ensure proper release is obtained and summaries are filed
- Begin file from pre-alert with origin
- File ISFs as necessary, and follow-up for bill matches
- Ensure timely Customs release, arrange delivery and billing
- Engage Breakbulk Department to ensure timely receipt of documentation for clearance, and turnover, released shipments back to BB for timely deliveries and billing
- Handle non-routed shipments from beginning with pre-alert from forwarder
- Pay freight, handling and terminal charges as necessary

Entry writing experience, 1-3 yearsKnowledge of freight forwardingKnowledge of PGAs (including, but not limited to USDA, FDA, EPA, NOAA)Knowledge of Cargowise software a plusSalary Range
$45K - $55K depends on qualifications
