POSITION SUMMARY
The Maintenance Technician performs repair and preventive maintenance to facility and building systems at the Center. This role involves inspecting the work of other maintenance personnel, overseeing training activities of students, and coordinating with outside contractors. The technician conducts periodic inspections, completes work orders, and maintains high standards of quality and productivity. Additionally, the technician is responsible for mentoring students and ensuring their needs are met.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
Perform repair and preventive maintenance on facility and building systems
Inspect the work of other maintenance personnel
Research and recommend the purchase of replacement equipment
Oversee the training activities of students in the maintenance area
Conduct periodic inspections of building systems and equipment
Complete work orders in a timely manner
Provide student transport as necessary
Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals
Mentor and model Career Success Standards for students
Collaborate with staff from all departments to ensure effective services

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Advanced degrees preferred. Minimum one-year experience in building maintenance required. Technical certificate preferred. Working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC systems, boilers and other building systems preferred. Must possess a valid in-State Driver’s License and meet Company insurability requirements.
Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and / or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and / or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
