American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for an acute care hospital assignment in California, requiring at least 2 years of cath lab experience and an active CA RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Level II trauma acute care hospital catheterization laboratoryUnit includes 3 Cath / EP suites and 1 complex IR suite with an average of 8-10 cases per dayPatient cases include interventional and diagnostic cardiac procedures, pacer and implant placements, STEMIs, balloon pump, Impella, ECMO, shockwave, and rotablader technologies, as well as EP studies, ablations, watchman, TAVR, trauma, IR, and neuro casesEquipment used includes Balloon Pump, Impella, and RotabladeCerner and Merge are used for chartingShift is 10-hour days with variable starts, call included, and every other weekend coverage requiredOn-call required : 12-14 call days per 4-week schedule, with call every other weekend (Friday evening through Monday morning), and a 30-minute response time is expectedNo floating requiredScrubs are providedPrimary duties include circulating, administering moderate sedation, patient teaching, medication administration, equipment setup, and patient transportGood communication skills and ability to work closely with interventionalists and the cath lab team are essentialSelf-scheduling is allowed, but requested days off are subject to departmental needs and union seniority rulesCandidates must be flexible and willing to occasionally stay beyond scheduled shift for longer cases2–3 shifts of unit-specific orientation providedFirst-time travelers may be consideredHoliday call coverage may be required based on unit needsPrevious direct employees (full-time, part-time, or PRN) of affiliated facilities within past year are not eligible\n \n Requirements\n
Active CA RN license required at the time of considerationMinimum of 2 years of cath lab RN experienceCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALSExperience with setup of cath lab equipment such as Balloon Pump, Impella, Rotablade is requiredExperience in EP, neuro, trauma, and / or complex IR is preferred but willingness to learn these areas will be consideredExperience with Cerner EMR and Merge systems is preferredAbility to respond to call shifts within 30 minutes is required\n Benefits\n
