Sheet Metal Mechanic
Join our team as a Sheet Metal Mechanic, where you will fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork and components for HVAC systems. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects, interpreting blueprints and specifications to meet project requirements. This role involves using hand tools, power tools, and machinery to measure, cut, and shape sheet metal, ensuring airtight connections through welding, soldering, and riveting.
Responsibilities
- Fabricate, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork and components for HVAC systems.
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Measure, cut, and shape sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as shears, brakes, and presses.
- Weld, solder, and rivet seams and joints to assemble ductwork and ensure airtight connections.
- Inspect and test completed ductwork for conformance to specifications and building codes.
- Perform maintenance and repair work on existing ductwork systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with other team members and contractors to complete projects on time and within budget.
Essential Skills
Proven experience as a sheet metal fabricator and welder, particularly in HVAC systems.Proficiency in welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and tools.Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials and work in various positions.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Additional Skills & Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in sheet metal fabrication and welding preferred.Certification in welding (e.g., AWS Certified Welder) and OSHA safety training is a plus.Why Work Here?

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00 / hr.
