JOB TITLE : Instructor / Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Professor

SUMMARY :

Regular faculty positions at Briar Cliff University are responsible for teaching, advising students, service to the University and community as well as scholarship. Faculty regularly collaborate with other academic departments, student admissions, athletics, financial aid and other supporting departments of the University. Most faculty positions require 9-month teaching assignments of 24 credit hours; some require 12-month teaching assignments. All faculty positions require responsiveness to email and University activities throughout the year.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Teach assigned courses in specified discipline (Financial and Managerial, Income Tax, Auditing, Advanced and Cost Accounting, Economics and / or Finance).

Develop and deliver engaging and effective courses

Advise and mentor students, providing academic and career guidance.

Stay current with academic and industry trends

Attend professional development workshops, and conferences to maintain and increase knowledge in the field

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals for the purposes of assessing program performance.

REASONING ABILITY : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
