Advertised Job Summary :

The School of Music at the University of South Carolina is seeking applicants for Associate Director of Choral Studies. This 9-month, tenure-track position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor.

Responsibilities : Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Choral Methods and undergraduate Conducting; conduct the University Chorus; coordinate secondary choral music education and student teachers; assist with the graduate conducting program; engage in scholarly and / or creative research activities; participate in faculty service activities and committee work. Additional teaching responsibilities as determined by qualifications, preference, and institutional needs.

Required Education and Experience :

  • An earned doctorate (or ABD with degree completion date by start date of employment), an established record of teaching and excellence in choral performance, and at least five (5) years of public-school teaching experience at the secondary level.
