Overview
St. Margaret's Episcopal School is seeking a passionate and experienced Head Girls Flag Football Coach to lead and develop our girls flag football program. The ideal candidate will have expertise in coaching flag football, strong leadership abilities, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, competitive, and positive team culture. As Head Coach, you will be responsible for guiding our student-athletes, developing their skills, and ensuring the overall success of the program.
Base pay range
$24.00 / hr - $29.00 / hr
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Leadership : Articulate and implement a clear vision for the Girls Flag Football program aligned with the values of St. Margaret's Episcopal School. Inspire student-athletes, coaches, and families to embrace the program's goals and values. Recruit, build, and lead a cohesive coaching staff. Establish and pursue measurable goals, regularly evaluating and refining program strategies. Provide stability and leadership through challenges or transitions.
- Sport-Specific Expertise : Maintain current knowledge of flag football trends, training techniques, and coaching strategies. Develop and implement training plans focused on individual and team development. Teach flag football fundamentals and advanced techniques appropriate to developmental levels. Stay engaged with local, regional, and national girls flag football communities to foster opportunities and recruitment. Participate in ongoing professional development, including clinics and conferences. Adapt coaching methods to align with age-appropriate best practices.
- Program Administration : Ensure vertical integration of the girls flag football program from middle school through varsity. Coordinate with the athletic trainer and professional community to ensure proper support and student wellness. Organize and manage team practices, competitions, and tournament schedules. Collaborate with facilities and maintenance staff to ensure readiness of equipment and practice / game spaces. Complete all required administrative tasks including rosters, reports, and compliance documentation. Attend required league, department, and coaching meetings.
- Community and Culture : Foster a program that supports student-athletes in balancing academics and athletics. Cultivate an environment of perseverance, sportsmanship, and positivity. Promote the value of girls flag football and its broader life lessons. Uphold the school's commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Engage with parents, faculty, and the broader school community to strengthen program relationships.
- Character and Conduct : Serve as a visible role model of integrity, professionalism, and ethical behavior. Always represent St. Margaret's with pride and professionalism. Follow and enforce all school, league, and CIF policies and applicable laws. Prioritize student-athlete welfare and maintain high standards of personal and team conduct.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Minimum of three years of relevant coaching and / or teaching experience.Ability to instruct, motivate, and supervise student-athletes in a professional and supportive manner.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative, student-centered mindset.Preferred

Physical Requirements And Environment
This position requires the ability to perform work that is physically demanding and involves frequent standing, walking, running, bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, and lifting. The employee must be able to demonstrate and instruct various physical exercises and conditioning techniques. Duties involve regular movement throughout gymnasiums, athletic fields, and weight training facilities. The employee must have the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials weighing up to 75 pounds and occasionally assist with heavier loads. Visual and auditory acuity is required to observe student performance and ensure a safe training environment. The position also requires the ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency or high-intensity athletic situations.
