Overview
Postdoctoral Appointee – MSD Critical Materials Recovery at Argonne National Laboratory. The appointment supports experimental studies to develop novel functionalization strategies for tethering redox-active molecules to carbon surfaces for selective, electrochemical capture of critical minerals. The position collaborates with an interdisciplinary team focused on materials synthesis, characterization, and theoretical understanding to design and optimize functionalized electrodes for next generation capacitive deionization systems. This is a renewable yearly contract.
Responsibilities
- Perform experimental studies to develop and optimize functionalization strategies for tethering redox-active molecules to carbon surfaces.
- Design and evaluate functionalized electrodes for capacitive deionization applications in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to materials synthesis, characterization, and theoretical understanding related to the project goals.
