Responsibilities
Collaborate with Department of the Air Force and USSF strategic-communications stakeholders to develop and implement USSF strategic communications aimed at strengthening the USSF culture and brand and optimizing engagement with internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and maintain products (such as presentations and bullet background papers) which facilitate strategic-communications efforts.
Support OVCSO staff in managing external studies and research projects.
Work with HQ USSF, Field Commands, Direct Reporting Units, and / or other USSF organizations to implement VCSO-led initiatives.
Conduct independent studies and analyses for the VCSO and manage special projects assigned by OVCSO.
Provide advice and subject‑matter expertise to OVCSO staff on emerging policy issues.
Support the VCSO speechwriter in developing messages for delivery to both internal USSF and external audiences.
Update pages on the Guardian One website that contain content intended to help Guardians educate and engage a range of audiences about the Space Force.
Create, manage, and close tasks in the Enterprise Task Management System which support strategic‑communications efforts.
Interface and perform Space Force strategy and plans‑related analysis and support with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, and the offices of the Joint Staff, Department of the Air Force, Field Commands, and other joint, Service, and international partners, as required.
Support the coordination of sensitive planning activities within the departmental, with the interagency, and Congressional arenas.
Demonstrated understanding of Space enterprise to include DoD requirements, acquisition, budgeting processes and applicable Defense Space guidance and policy.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, lead, and execute studies or projects and brief results to senior leadership.
Required Experience
TS Clearance with SCI eligibility.
Experience supporting Service HQ or DoD Agency or IC staffs.
Ability to work as a member of a cross‑functional team.
Demonstrated interpersonal, organizational, oral presentation and executive writing skills.
Familiarity with the DoD space architectural analysis.
Excellent writing skills.
Preferred Skills
Pentagon knowledge and understanding of Pentagon organizations.
Knowledge and familiarity with current Defense Department efforts in space.
Experience evaluating USSF, other DoD or NRO space systems.
Staff experience supporting DoD agencies within the past 3 years.
Familiarity with the Enterprise Task Management System and other HQ staffing tools.
Required Education / Experience
Top Secret / SCI Clearance.
Masters Degree plus a minimum of 15 years of experience in a Strategic Communications, Operations, Engineering, Scientific, Analysis, Policy or Planning field, or equivalent experience / responsibility. Bachelors degree considered with the appropriate background and experience.
Preferred Education / Experience
Masters degree in Strategy or Strategic Communications.
15+ years experience in an Ops, engineering, scientific, analysis, policy or planning field related to Defense Space.
HQ SF / SAF staff experience within the past 3 years.
SAP experience.
