Position Summary : The Medical Assistant who holds the Surgical Scheduler position will be responsible for performing secretarial duties for physician, which includes, scheduling surgical procedures (in office, outpatient, inpatient), scheduling pre- and post-op appointments, medical clearances, orders for medical supplies and DME, obtaining surgical benefits, authorizations for surgery and collections of pre-surgery deposits. The Surgical Scheduler will manage all incoming calls, questions, faxes, and emails related to surgery and back up the Medical Assistants in clinic rooming patients, entering orders, etc. as needed.
Qualifications :
- Medical Assistant diploma required.
- Surgical coordination experience required.
- Proficient in Excel and Word.
- Must have knowledge of medical terminology
