Work location : Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave, Fort Worth, TX 76104

Work hours : PRN, Requires at least 1 shift per 6 week schedule, 7 : 00 am – 7 : 00 pm

Department Highlights

  • Robust Unit Based Council (UBC) and engaged leadership team
  • Fast paced 23 bed Observation Unit with an average patient stay of 24-48 hours, primarily serves patients with chest pain / rule out, MI, COPD, Dehydration, Syncope, UTI, hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, allergic reaction and cellulitis among others.

Here’s What You Need

  • Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program or Nursing Diploma required
  • BSN preferred
  • One-year experience as a clinical nurse in acute care setting required
  • One year of Emergency experience strongly preferred
  • RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act, serve as a role model, intra / interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care
  • BLS prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
  • ACLS within 90 days of hire required
  • CPI within 90 days of hire required
  • What You Will Do

    Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process

  • Assesses the patient
  • Plans the care of the patient
  • Intervenes as appropriate
  • Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
  • Incorporates age specific safety / infection control measures into patient care.
  • Initiates action to meet patient and / or significant others need for information
  • Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
