BIM Coordinator

Location : Amarillo, TX on-site at project location

Description

The BIM Coordinator (VDC Lead) is responsible for the successful implementation, development, and management of VDC (Virtual Design and Construction) technologies on assigned construction projects onsite in Amarillo, TX. This role involves integrating these technologies into construction operations to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve project visualization. The VDC Lead oversees day-to-day operations from pre-construction through project completion and serves as the subject matter expert in construction, BIM (Building Information Modeling), and scanning technologies. This role requires strong leadership to manage site personnel, subcontractors, and resources to ensure project goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead onsite implementation and management of BIM / VDC technologies to support project planning, coordination, and execution.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, maintain, and coordinate BIM models aligned with project standards and goals.
• Integrate BIM into scheduling, estimating, clash detection, and quality control to minimize conflicts and enhance efficiency.
• Facilitate data exchange, 3D model coordination, and issue tracking using tools like Navisworks.
• Train team members, support technology adoption, and evaluate new BIM tools and workflows.
• Ensure model accuracy, construction readiness, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Serve as the primary BIM / VDC contact for clients and project teams, providing clear and professional communication.
• Support the implementation of digital fabrication workflows and automated processes using Dynamo, Python, or similar tools.
• Hold and attend ad-hoc meetings with subcontractors. Hold and attend daily / weekly field meetings to remain aligned with current site conditions and project sequences.
