Interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine layout requirements. Accurately record field data and transfer measurements to project managers, engineers, or CAD technicians. Calibrate and maintain surveying instruments to ensure accuracy. Collaborate with field crews, engineers, and supervisors to ensure correct positioning and alignment of structures. Assist in creating as-built documentation to verify completed work. Troubleshoot technical issues with total station equipment and coordinate repairs when necessary. Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment. Keep detailed logs of work performed and measurements collected. High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in surveying, civil engineering, or construction technology preferred. 2+ years of experience operating total station surveying equipment in a construction environment (preferred). Strong understanding of construction drawings, grading plans, and staking requirements. Proficiency with surveying software and data collection tools. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Physical ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift surveying equipment. Experience with GPS survey systems and CAD software. Knowledge of civil construction practices and site work. Familiarity with robotic total stations and related equipment.
