Registered Nurse – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

Shift : 7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM (3x12-hour shifts)

Job Description

The NICU Registered Nurse provides specialized care to critically ill newborns and premature infants requiring intensive medical attention. The nurse will manage neonates with complex needs, operate advanced life-support equipment, and respond to neonatal emergencies in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert care to premature and critically ill infants (23 weeks gestation to 4 months)
  • Respond to neonatal emergencies and attend all C-sections and high-risk deliveries
  • Manage ventilators, oscillators, pressors, and micro-preemie patients
  • Perform bedside procedures including IV insertion, septic workups, intubations, and catheter insertions
  • Administer medications, blood products, and parenteral nutrition
  • Utilize advanced therapies such as CPAP, high-frequency oscillation, and nitric oxide inhalation
  • Educate and support parents regarding infant care and progress
  • Requirements

  • Experience : Minimum 3 years of recent Level III NICU experience (required)
  • Licensure : Active RN license in the state or district of practice (required)
  • Certifications : BLS, NRP, and STABLE (required)
  • Local Policy : Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
