About You and This Role
You would support multiple pilot plant facility operations. You are a team player, have good prioritization and organizational skills, and demonstrate competencies in the areas of : leadership, initiative, teamwork, and interpersonal effectiveness.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting Instrument and Electrical issues with Pilot Plant equipment. Assessing and diagnosing problems and conducting repair or replacement of equipment
- Preparing equipment for maintenance by electrically clearing motors, switchgear, etc. Maintaining Instrument & Electrical (I&E) equipment including VFDs, Switchgear, transformers, power supply battery backup systems, various instrumentation, etc. as well as Calibrating instrumentation
- Specifying and procuring Instrument and Electrical equipment according to the application requirements in terms of power supply, flow, temperature, pressure, process fluids, area classification, etc
- Conducting periodic function and proof testing of BPCS and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) instrument loops
- Loop checking Input / Output (I / O) loops for new field installations
- Serving as the I&E Lead for expense and small capital projects
- Maintaining instrument schedules and other records associated with plant process instrument and electrical equipment
- Working with Maintenance Technicians, Maintenance System Administrator, Technical Advisor, Operations Coach, and Engineers to prepare for planned plant shutdowns to complete repairs or new installations
- Providing instrumentation and electrical equipment specifications as needed to support department Process Automation Technicians and Engineers in developing process control code
- Assisting with Instrumentation and Electrical equipment training for new Run Plant Technicians and Engineers
Required Qualifications
A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED is required.A minimum of Instrumentation Journeyman card or documented training with 4 years of relevant instrumentation and / or electrical experience or a minimum of 4 years of military service with applicable skilled trade job experienceProficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, etc.Must have the ability to work overtime as an on call rotating basis and holidays as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this positionA minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.
