Construction Estimator - Bridges

Job Description :

We are seeking an Estimator (Bridge / Structural) to service our transportation projects in Maryland and Virginia. Candidates can work out of our Annapolis Junction, MD, or Richmond, VA offices.

As a Bridge / Structural Estimator, you will prepare and coordinate complete estimates related to transportation project pursuits across our regions. You will work on a range of projects, including conventional bridges, retaining walls, and complex structures such as Segmental, Inclined Steel Arch, Post-Tensioned, Cable-Stay, and Suspension Structures.

Estimating Responsibilities

• Review proposals, specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, and perform site visits to determine scope and estimate requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity takeoffs, determine cost-effective construction methods, and complete full cost estimates, including self-review.
• Compare estimated costs with historical data and evaluate construction methods for best value.
• Coordinate with other estimators and managers to ensure comprehensive and responsive estimates.
• Collaborate with clients, design partners, vendors, and stakeholders to develop cost-effective solutions.
• Analyze geotechnical reports to assess ground condition impacts on operations and costs.
• Review subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Prepare CPM schedules and manage document changes and clarifications with clients.
• Develop bid documents, track job costs, and support project operations with change orders.
• Maintain records of estimating models and templates.
• Set a productive example for peers and stay current with industry trends and techniques.

Education and Experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Expected annual salary range : $75,000 - $110,000. Compensation depends on education, experience, location, and other factors.
