Position Summary :
The Project Portfolio Data Analyst is responsible for tracking, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on the performance and status of IT Product Construction projects. This role supports portfolio management decision-making by providing insights into project financial performance, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and strategic alignment. The analyst will assist in identifying trends and areas for process improvement, while collaborating with various teams.
The role involves working closely with project managers, stakeholders, and executive leadership to develop dashboards, reports, and presentations that facilitate financial transparency and project success.
In essence, the Project Portfolio Data Analyst acts as a bridge between project data and decision-making, enabling the PMO to effectively manage projects, optimize performance, and achieve strategic objectives

Job Description
The Financial Analyst manages the Financials for a construction project in close collaboration with the assigned project manager(s). His / Her key responsibility is to ensure financial tools are made available for project tracking, monitoring and the initial financial planning. For New Build specifically they will need to develop the monthly forecasted spend across all projects and submit to the NB Finance team. The goal is also to have them oversee the risk mitigation and also change management with specific focus on the financial impact of potential change requests and or risks that need to be mitigated. The other area of responsibility is to proactively manage any potential issues that arise as well as regular Executive summaries and updates.

Required Education
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

4+ years of Financial experience
Desired Skills
1. Advance Excel skills. Able to create power-pivots. Accurately manage more than 15000 rows of data. Comfortable with VLOOKUP and nesting formulas.
2. Forecasting experience. Knowledge of long-term financial planning for projects with an average 4 year lifespan. Manage more than 2 active projects at a time with a total capital portfolio of ~$120 Million.
3. Monthly variance explanation experience. Provide valuable insights explaining the variance between Actuals vs Forecast.
4. Project budget reporting experience. Maintain excel reporting model. Reporting at a granular level to be utilized by different internal stakeholders. Reporting to be provided on a biweekly cadence.
5. Financial analytical skills. Experience performing spend curves, burn-rate and rate-volume analysis.
6. Ability to liaison with the IT supply chain department to gain information regarding projects procurement process.
7. Presentation skills. Serve as the IT financial representative to the NewBuild / IT Finance organizations.
8. Experience in a Project Management work environment.
9. Problem solving skills. Comfortable working independently with minor supervision.
