Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering medications and providing essential care to residents in assisted living, nursing homes, or healthcare facilities. Your expertise in patient care and commitment to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with various health conditions will be vital in delivering exceptional service.
Duties
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals while ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Monitor and document patients' vital signs, medication administration, and any changes in their condition.
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and feeding, tailored to individual needs.
- Collaborate with nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans for residents.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in the management of medical equipment and supplies, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Engage with residents through meaningful interactions to promote emotional well-being and social engagement.
- Support residents with special needs such as dementia care, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and developmental disabilities.
Experience
Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital settings is preferred.Familiarity with EMR / EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous.Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and vital sign monitoring is essential.Experience with caregiving practices including tube feeding, catheter care, and patient mobility support is beneficial.Strong understanding of medication administration protocols and medical documentation practices.A compassionate approach to working with seniors or individuals with disabilities is crucial for success in this role.
