Step into a hands-on leadership role guiding complex welds and the people who make them possible. As our Lead Precision TIG Welding Supervisor, you’ll set the pace for safety, quality, and delivery while working on turbine and generator components that keep critical power assets running.
A Day in the Life
Start your shift with a quick huddle—assign jobs, align on production goals, and reinforce safety expectations. From there, you’ll split time between the floor and coordination : performing intricate TIG welds on INCO, Hastelloy X, stainless, and carbon steels; inspecting welds to manufacturer and company standards; and troubleshooting with site managers, supervisors, and Quality to refine processes. You’ll verify measurements with calipers and ID / OD micrometers, document procedures and repairs, and jump in on turbine / generator disassembly, assembly, prep, and blend work. You’ll also support material moves with forklifts and overhead cranes and help other shop areas as needed—always keeping the workspace clean and compliant with OSHA and customer / ARMS guidelines.
What You’ll Do
- Lead, mentor, and train welders to elevate workmanship and throughput.
- Plan and delegate daily welding tasks to hit deadlines and production targets.
- Execute and oversee weld repair / manufacture of turbine and generator components.
- Inspect welds for compliance with manufacturer and company standards.
- Maintain accurate records of processes, inspections, and repairs per procedures.
- Perform disassembly / assembly of turbine / generator components; prep and blend parts.
- Partner with job site managers / supervisors and Quality Control to solve issues and improve methods.
- Operate forklifts and cranes safely.
- Maintain a clean, safe work area; adhere to company policies and OSHA regulations.
- Support adjacent shop operations when needed.
What You Bring
5–10 years of welding experience (preferred) and strong leadership capability.Background in the Power Generation industry (preferred).Availability for significant mandatory overtime during peak periods.Fixture assembly / use experience.Precision measurement proficiency : calipers, vernier calipers, ID / OD micrometers, etc.Fluency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical specifications.Expertise in delicate, high-precision welds with minimal distortion.Proficiency welding specialty metals (INCO, Hastelloy X, carbon, stainless steel, etc.).Knowledge of metallurgy and welding equipment setup / operation.Strong mechanical aptitude and clear written / verbal communication.Ability to anticipate changes, organize work for efficient operations, and communicate clearly to achieve objectives.Solid organizational skills and reliability.Physical ability to stand / walk for long periods; frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.Ability to follow safety guidelines set by the customer and ARMS.OSHA 10 certification (preferred) and a valid driver’s license.Proficiencies & Tools
