Job Summary
The Sr Mgr, HR directs, coordinates and administers all human resources activities such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training, and employee services in the assigned division. This individual implements the organization's human resource strategy to attract, manage, develop, and retain employees to achieve current and future business objectives.
Job Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead implementation of people-related services, policies, and programs through Human Resources staff. Assist and advise division managers about Human Resources issues.
- Administer processes and metrics that support the achievement of the organization's business goals.
- Counsel and assist business leaders to maintain, identify, and implement actions that improve or maintain a positive employee relations environment.
- Assess the internal employee climate, counsel with managers to identify and implement actions that improve or maintain a positive employee relations environment.
- Recommend and implement personnel policies and procedures; prepare and maintain the employee handbook. May include policy development responsibilities.
- Support employee recruitment, selection, and retention through : conducting new-employee orientations; monitoring career-pathing programs, employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviews.
- Identify internal and external factors affecting employee retention; develop proactive strategies with managers / supervisors to meet or exceed turnover goals.
- Work with managers to develop training plans that prepare employees to meet current and future business objectives. Analyze training requirements and recommend programs to support development.
- Administer the company's compensation programs, ensuring internal consistency and fairness. Assist with job evaluations and salary administration to ensure pay equity.
- Manage the company's EHS programs and policies. Assist with Worker's Compensation issues and ensure timely return to work. Review claims for corrective actions.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degreeWork Experience
At least 5 years in Human Resources positions.At least 2 years managing people, including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing.Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Thorough knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and laws.Experience reviewing actions and ensuring task completion.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Experience delivering presentations at various organizational levels.Travel up to 25% may be required.Preferred Job Requirements
