Job Description

As a Security Guard Unarmed Government Patrol Full-Time in Costa Mesa, CA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more.

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated areas within a government location, helping to deter security-related incidents and supporting a secure environment. Your visible presence and routine patrols will contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, while your commitment to exceptional customer service and clear communication will enhance the experience for all visitors and staff. What You'll Do :

Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites

  • Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
  • Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
  • Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
  • Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities :

  • Provide customer service to clients and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the location and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and identify potential concerns.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points, verifying credentials as required by site policies.
  • Support emergency response efforts as directed, including assisting with evacuations or other site-specific procedures.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of daily activities, incidents, and observations as required by Allied Universal and site management.
  • Interact professionally with the public, staff, and visitors to provide information and assistance as needed.

    • Minimum Requirements :

  • Must have at least 2 years of security-related experience.
  • Experience with access control and / or badge systems is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and / or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
